In 1952, Fyodor Reshetnikov created the famous painting “Again Two!”, And only two years later the work “Reexamination” appeared, which is a continuation of the previously set theme - “childhood”.
Fedor Reshetnikov was a supporter of social realism, was considered one of the most popular artists of the USSR. His work “Reexamination” shows a situation familiar to all children. The boy did not study well, received unsatisfactory marks, and his mother put him at home to study.
We see in the picture a room in a dilapidated wooden house. The walls of the house without wallpaper, but decorated with a small poster. In the room we see a table at which a boy sits. On the table, covered with a blue tablecloth with a yellow pattern, there is a complete mess: books that originally stood smoothly are now scattered. In front of the boy is a notebook, and on a stand is a textbook. The child turned away from his textbooks. He is sad and offended. He studied poorly throughout the school year and did not pay enough attention to the lessons. Now the summer has come, all the children are resting, and he has to learn.
There is a window on the back wall. Thus, the artist was able to expand the space of the room. Outside the window is summer. Sunny, warm day. Children running around in the yard in light clothing. On girls skirts and T-shirts, on boys shorts, panama hats and T-shirts. Children play with a ball. But they did not forget about their friend. Two boys ran up and began to look out the window of the house where the loner is engaged. The guys are calling him for a walk. But they are still small and do not understand what school and lessons are, they just want to have fun.
In the room, near the table, at which the boy sits, there is a chair. We see that there are knitting needles and a knitted little thing on the armchair. A ball of thread fell to the floor. Apparently, the boy was watched by the mother or grandmother for a long time, made sure that he was engaged. But she went to do housework, leaving the boy unattended. At that moment the friends of the loser came running.
