Description of the painting by Vitold Bialynitsky-Biruli “Spring”

The painting "Spring" by V. Bialynitsky-Birulya wrote in 1899.

On it, the artist described the state of nature awakened from sleep. The snow has already fallen, the grass began to come to life on the soil moistened with moisture, somewhere it is still chubby and red, somewhere already young, juicy green. The forest is still bare. Trees stand without foliage.

In the central part of the canvas in the foreground is a river of incredible saturated blue color. At the turn of its channel, a strong current is seething slightly, and in the rest of it there is a calm expanse reflecting the tops of bare trees.

The sky is also an incredible blue color, against which the trees seem even more orphaned.

Stunning realism of the canvas, as if taking the viewer into the atmosphere of spring mood.

Byalynitsky-Birul turns each painting to the lyrical image of the landscape. The artist develops the traditions of painting of the late 19th century, characteristic of his genre. In his work, he always adhered to two criteria: simplicity and truthfulness. Bialynitsky-Birulyau paid particular attention to precisely these qualities, improving his skills.

It is this desire that manifests in his works the sincerity and freshness of the canvas. Thanks to this, the artist developed his own individual artistic style, which distinguishes his paintings from others.

He did not need to use the accepted patterns to highlight the time of the year, he subtly felt nature and saw its essence, just pay attention to the sky depicted by him, as the time of year becomes immediately clear.

According to some sources, the artist sold the painting "Spring" to a private collection, immediately after writing.

With the money received for her, he went on a trip abroad.

According to the latest data, the painting "Spring" is in the Kiev National Museum of Russian Art.
