Description of the painting Konstantin Korovin "Lilac"

Konstantin Alekseevich Korovin was the personification of the artistic bohemia of his time. Possessing an artistic character and bright charisma, the artist was a celebrity and favorite of all of Moscow. Possessing remarkable talent, and having recommendations, he never finished his studies at the Academy of Arts. On the one hand, his enthusiastic and nonchalant nature interfered, on the other, his disappointment in teaching methods and his own, free and bold writing technique that stands out against the general background.

Korovin loved life and enjoyed it, he considered the main task of creativity to share the joy and colors of the world in the paintings. The main landmarks of its formation were the work of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, as well as Symbolists. Konstantin Alekseevich tried himself in various fields - theater, architecture, applied art, wrote and experimented with genres. The entire painting of the creator is distinguished by the richness and brightness of colors, light and the diversity of happiness.

Korovin introduced new trends into the still life genre. Even in the very first works, objects were prescribed to them with special care. In 1915, during the heyday of his work, he painted the painting "Lilac". Without a doubt, this work is filled with the skill of an accomplished impressionist artist. Pure light and expressive strokes form a multifaceted inflorescence. Difficult for perception at close examination, at a distance the light tones of the bouquet are filled with the light of the June sun. Dancing on the bottoms of glare and a “vibrating” dance of shapes and shapes gives vivacity to a soulless composition. Each item was painted with love, without exquisite details, but juicy and expressive strokes.

The ease and dedication of the artist’s perception allows you to discover the richness and special charm of forms and colors in simple everyday objects. A special role is given to color nuances, the play of shades, which together give rise to the impression of "movement". The viewer does not just admire the bouquet of flowers, but feels the aroma of summer and absorbs the light and warmth of a bright still life.
